When we stand before God, He’s not going analyze our parenting style. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So train your children up in the way they should go, speaking the truth to them in love with all kindness and patience and taking joy in the gift that they are to you. If that is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, He’s not going to analyze our employee or employer file. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So do all you do as if you are working for the Lord (cause you are), representing Him, and pursuing the mission for which He created you. If that is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, He’s not going to analyze our bank statements and our net worth portfolio. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So give generously as if everything you have was given to you (cause it has been), looking out not only for your own interests, but the interests of those God has placed around you. If that is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, He’s not going to analyze the church that we attended. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So go to a church that shepherds your heart with grace and Truth...a place where you see tangible growth in Christ...a place where you can fill up and be encouraged to pour it right back out on the world around you. If that is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, He’s not going to analyze how much Biblical knowledge we’ve obtained or pull out a record of the number of hours we’ve spent in prayer. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So read and study your Bible for YOU, so that you can grow in the knowledge of God and understand His character and His great love for mankind.
Communicate with Him without ceasing because we need Him every single hour to avoid the pitfalls of this broken world and process the circumstances happening in our lives and the lives of others. If this is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, He’s not going to analyze the list of our sins that we’ve confessed and placed under the blood of His Son. He’s going to look into the depths of our hearts. So reject self righteousness and self justification. Humble yourself when the Holy Spirit points on the sin in you and repent of it. Stop hiding behind fig leaves, come out and let Him clothe you with Christ’s righteousness. Make the past as right as you can and then press forward into the high calling of God. If this is your focus, it is enough.
When we stand before God, we won’t be enough, only Jesus is. If you let Him into the depths of your heart, it is enough.
