When Working Toward Wholeness

One of the things that I talk about in the book I just finished is how sometimes we have a skewed view of what it means to live a powerful life as a Christian. We can either believe that we need to be utilizing some kind of supernatural power all the time, or we can believe that power is God’s department, and we are finite humans who have no power at all. In truth, God has given us everything that we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). I list many God-given resources in the book…resources that God has given us agency and responsibility over in our own lives.
Here’s why these resources are powerful: God designed you and everything inside of you to function as an integrated creation. Your body, mind, emotions, and spirit are all connected and cannot be disconnected from each other here on earth. Modern medicine often treats these things as if they are separate, and the cures prescribed are often lacking in their scope. But God-given resources have benefits that permeate the whole of who we are. They change us from the inside-out and free us from many root causes that can be easily missed by the specialists.
I learned this the hard way. I spent decades trying to find a “cure” for the debilitating anxiety, panic, and depression that often infiltrated my life. I looked in all the mental health places before mental health was even a thing society was talking about. I believed for a long time that the problem was with my mind. Turns out, it had as much to do with my body (what I was putting in it and how I was treating it), my emotions (things that I’d ignored and refused to deal with), and my spirit (wrong beliefs about God, myself, and others) as it did my mind (thoughts, ideas, and logic). I only began to heal when I looked outside of my mental health to find more answers.
We are complicated beings. It’s easy to want to simplify yourself so there are quick, efficient answers, but we aren’t ChatGPT. We are living, breathing, God connected creations. We need the resources that He’s provided for us if we are ever going to feel better and live better.
You are body (systems, organs, muscles, nerves), mind (thoughts, ideas, beliefs, logic), emotions (desires, feelings, reactions, connections), and spirit (God-created, God-breathed, God-inspired, morals, values, conscience). These parts of you all work together to make up the whole of who you are while you are living on this earth. Resourcing leads to a healthier and more fulfilled “you” because God designed His powerful resources with your wholeness in mind.
I’ve recently begun to release my entire resourcing course on YouTube. There are already so many puzzle pieces to wholeness posted there and new ones uploading daily. I jumped out of my comfort zone of writing and am showing my face to the world on video because I believe that the things that I share in these videos are life-changing. As a whole, this course reminds you of all the incredibly powerful resources that God has given you for healing and health. I hope you’ll check it out, subscribe to the channel, and even share it with others…not because I want anyone else critiquing my speaking and teaching style (lol)…but because I truly believe that these things can make lives better.
